Writer's Bio
I'm a writer of prose, short story and script with a keen interest in human origins, mysticism, philosophy, psychology, science and pop culture. This may seem like a broad spectrum, but I see all these topics as interconnected. The goal of my writing is to better understand and make relatable the current, fast-changing and often confusing era we live in.
I'm drawn to themes of transformation and transcendence: decay and renewal (Eros and Thanatos) as well as shadow and morality. I'm fascinated with how the modern world with it's breakthrough technological advances has managed to progressively disconnect people from nature, themselves and one another. Through my writing, I seek ways to mend our fragmentation, re-pair and re-connect, or take it to the edge and explore the ultimate fallout, searching for sparks in the rubble.
I'm drawn towards the fundamental and impulsive, intrigued by how mind dances with form. My goal is to probe the formless fabric of consciousness and break down components of perception to expose its limits.
I'm the author of award winning essays and articles about human health and the decaying state of our natural environment. I've also written numerous blogs, articles and creative fiction pieces, some of which are currently awaiting publication. On the lengthier side of things, I'm the author of a young adult novel, Moonchild, and a short story The Fix, which was a semi-finalist in ScreenCraft contest. Currently, I'm working on a collection of short stories and a new novel exploring the influence of pop culture on self-image.
